Ronald G. Rath, 65, of Byesville, died at 6:11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 17, 1941, in Zanesville, a son of the late Harold and Edith Brock Rath. He was self-employed for DHL for 15 years, was the former owner of Millers Flowers for 33 years, served as president of FTD in 1981, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Eagles Lodge, was an avid golfer, enjoyed boating, fly fishing and playing cards. Ronald coached little league baseball and played softball. He enjoyed manicuring his yard. Surviving is his loving companion, Shirley Milligan and her children, Kayla, Sarah, Chris; Shirley's granddaughter, Madison; two sons, Doug (Tammy) Rath of Powell and Chris Fleming of Zanesville; two daughters, Susan (Tom) Starcher of New Concord and Teresa Fleming of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Hope, Hayley and Holly Starcher and Brady and Trey Rath; a brother, Bill Rath of Hopewell; a sister, Marge Huffman of Zanesville and three special golfing friends, Fred Wahl, Ed Cramer and Ward Wooley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior and Jack Clapper. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. No funeral service will be held and a caring cremation will take place.
