Ronald C. Spung, 85, of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord at 7:22 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Willow Haven Care Center. He was born August 18, 1927 in Zanesville, a son of the late John A. and Edna McCann Spung. He retired after 25 years of service at General Electric. Ronald was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran. Surviving are a son, Randy (Beth) Spung of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Ryan Clark of Augusta, Georgia, Abby (Jason) Knaup of Zanesville and Jonathan Spung of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two great grandchildren, Ellee Knaup and Alex Clark and a sister-in-law, Violet Weller of Zanesville; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, I. Marie Spung, who died August 20, 2005; three brothers, Ralph, Richard and Robert Spung. No calling hours will be observed a Graveside service will be held with Mr. Phillip Walker officiating at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville with full military honors being conducted by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
