Ruth M (Wade) Bowers

Ruth M. Bowers, 86, of Zanesville, died at 10:32 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Willow Haven Care Center. She was born April 3, 1924, in Athens County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Stephen and Eliza Goody Wade. She retired after 32 years of service as an inspector for Essex Wire. Surviving are two sons, Robert (Pam) Bowers and Russell (Marie) Bowers, both of Zanesville; two daughters, Linda Griffiths and Nancy Shaw, both of Zanesville; 11 grandchildren, Willis, Christina, Jeffrey, Thomas, Tammy, Timothy, Winfield III, Penny, Andrea, Rusty and Teri; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandsons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winfield Bowers, who died April 2, 2002; two sons, Winfield II and Elmer Bowers; three brothers, Ralph, Clem and Orville; and three sisters, Viola, Garnett and Ellie. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at the funeral home with Dr. Dennis J. Baker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
