Ruth E. Duemmel

Ruth E. (Duemmel) Swope, 84, of Zanesville, died at 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2024, at Willow Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born July 14, 1940, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Herman and Margaret (Good) Duemmel. Ruth was a member of Market Street Baptist Church and liked cooking for the Holidays, especially her homemade noodles.

She is survived by a son, Randall Swope; two granddaughters, Shelby and Aniya; three brothers, David, Bob, and Richard Duemmel; a sister, Jane Willey; and many loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Ronald E. Swope, who passed away on March 16, 2020; a brother, Clarence Duemmel; and two sisters, Margaret Duemmel and Bonnie Applegate.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 NOON on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Rev. Brian Owens officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Ronald, at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
