Ruth Grace (Altman) Parris

Ruth Grace Parris, 74, of Zanesville, has gone to be with our Savior. She passed away under the loving care of her daughter, Vivian, at her home. She was born May 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Noble Ray and Margaret May Wetzel Altman. Ruth was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ. Ruth had a passion for interior design. She loved working in her flower gardens and enjoyed traveling. Ruth was a giving and caring person. She loved children and they loved her. She is survived by her husband, Sam H. Patterson of the home; one son, Lyle (Sherry) Parris of Palm Bay, FL; five daughters, Vivian Inman and fiance' Mark Fink of Zanesville, Valerie (Mike) Montgomery of Zanesville, Valinda Snelling of Zanesville, Vonnie (James) Mariol of New Philadelphia and Valisha (Pete) Schumacher of Zanesville; one sister, Sue (Frank) Conrad of Lancaster, OH; one brother, Linn (Nancy) Altman of Lancaster, OH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nine step children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first love and husband of 44 years, Lyle Parris; a brother, Harold Altman; and two sisters, Charlotte Greene and Donna Altman. Calling hours will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, with Mr. Bill Meaige officiating.
