Ruth L. (Mcconnell) Roessler

Ruth L. Roessler, 91, of Zanesville, died at 7:25 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Willow Haven Care Center. She was born June 4, 1920, in Dresden, a daughter of the late Waldo and Clara Swope McConnell. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Ohio University and was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club at the Senior Center and was a volunteer at the Muskingum County Home. Surviving are a daughter, Carole (Ernest) Pitts of Zanesville; a son, George J. (Sherry) Roessler of Toledo; OH; two grandsons, Kevin (Monica) Roessler of Parma, OH and Scott (Jodi) Roessler of Lexington, KY; two great grandchildren, Callie and Jameson Roessler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George F. "Fred" Roessler, who died April 20, 1992; a son, Charles F. Roessler; two grandsons, Matthew Pitts and George J. Roessler Jr; and a sister, Dorothy Wilkinson. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband, George, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
