Ruth S. Taylor, 84, of Zanesville, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, peaceably in her sleep with her son and daughter by her side. She was born December 23, 1923, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late William P. and Ethel Francis Miller. Ruth was a 30 year plus employee in the packing department at the Brockway Glass Co., a member of the Brockway Retiree Club, the Brockway Camping Club and the Glass Awareness Club. She a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church and volunteered for 15 years at the Senior Olympics. Surviving are a daughter, Margaret F. (Russell) Nelson of Zanesville, a son, Albert P. (Carolyn) Taylor of Zanesville; a brother, Phillip (Barbara) Miller Jr. of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Taylor, who died October 27, 1985; a son, Freddie W. Taylor, who died December 2, 1996; a granddaughter, Alanna Taylor, who died in September 1972; three sisters, Margaret Perry, Betty Riley and Jean Wheeler and four brothers, William, John, Harry and Robert Miller. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Fulkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery.
