Sarah D. Wilkins, 100, of Zanesville, died at 10:45 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. She was born July 4, 1921 in Blue Rock, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Nellie May Gillogly Harper. She was a member of North Terrace Church of Christ and retired from Good Samaritan Hospital. Sarah started working at a young age on a farm doing inside and outside work. She enjoyed children of all ages and babysit often. Sarah loved to send cards for people’s birthdays, enjoyed gardening but especially enjoyed going to grandchildren and great grandchildren’s events.
Surviving are three children, Diana LeRoy, Stephen Wilson and Deborah Carpenter; three step-children, Betty (Gary) Vineyard, David Wilkins, and Charles Wilkins; five great grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; many step-grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Wickham and Della (Eddie) Schriner and a brother, Delmar Harper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John G. Wilson, her second husband, Dalton Wilkins, two sons-in-law, Joseph LeRoy and Stanley Carpenter; step-daughter, Mary Jane Mitchell; two brothers, Finley Harper and Fred Harper and four sisters, Rosa Bickford, Bertha Novaria, Lelia Collins and Mary Wheeler.
Friends and family may call from Noon until time of service at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2022, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, John at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to have you send a birthday card to people who Sarah knew as a way to remember her caring legacy of sending birthday cards.
