Shirley Maxine (Baker) Hendricks, 73, of Byesville, Ohio passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 7, 1937, in Bridgeport, Ohio, daughter of the late Franklin and Lulu (McKnight) Baker. Shirley retired from Southeastern Regional Medical Center in 1998, where she loved taking care of people. Shirley was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, former mayor Jack D. Hendricks, on September 16, 1979. They were married July 7, 1956. Also deceased are two sisters, Ruth Hicks and Regina Leach; and a brother, Donald Baker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Cindy (Bill) Ball and Debbie (Scott) Gebhart of Cambridge, and Amy Hendricks of Byesville; her five "grandbabies", Kaitlyn Ball (Fiance Tyler Hittle), Joel Gebhart (Fiance Misti Gingerich), Jenna Gebhart, and Tyler and Lacey Freeman; and three great "grandbabies", Ethan and Ryleigh Freeman, and Jacey Eubanks. She also leaves behind two sisters, Sandy Wiggins of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Lou Misenhelder of St. Petersburg, Florida; and two brothers, Frank Baker of Bridgeport, Ohio and William Baker of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Shirley loved playing with her puppy Sadie Lou. Shirley also enjoyed getting "on the road again" with her special girl-friends, Sally Evans, Benita Devolld and Barb Gesaman. Shirley was an unbelievable Mom, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Friend. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her "grandbabies" and great "grandbabies". No matter how old or young, they were always her "babies". In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated and no calling hours will be observed. A private family service will be held prior to burial at Northwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey County, P.O.
