Shirley L. Joseph, 81, a loving wife, mother, and Nana, of Zanesville, formerly of Eastward Circle, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Willow Haven Care Center. She was born September 11, 1924, in Cincinnati, a daughter of the late Frank and Cela Cohen Okrent. She was a member of the Beth Abraham Synagogue, life member of Hadassah, member of Beth Abraham Sisterhood, Bethesda Charity Circle, and past member of Zanesville Country Club. Shirley enjoyed shopping , eating out, playing bridge and going with her husband, Art to the grandchildren's sporting events. Shirley was her happiest when family came to her home for dinner. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arthur L. Joseph, who died November 20, 2003. Surviving are her children, Rob & Elaine and Jack & Bonnie of Zanesville, five grandchildren, Frank , Dick, Josh, Noah (Lyla) and Melinda and a sister, Joyce (Eddie) Hirsch of Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Rabbi Jeffrey Elson officiating. Burial will follow at Jewish Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
