Sue (Young) Leake

Sue Leake, 80, of Zanesville, died at 7:09 P.M. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at The Oaks at Northpointe, Zanesville. She was born September 1, 1941, a daughter of the late William R. and Anna L. Bowen Young. Sue worked at Dr. Jackson’s Dental Office, was a candy striper volunteer, worked in the cafeteria and worked in Radiology all at Good Samaritan Hospital and at Bernie’s Kountry Kitchen then Zane State for four years as a student aide. She cared deeply for all of her kids and loved to watch her grandkids play ball.

Sue is survived by six children, Randy Wheeler, Kimberly Melvin, Bryon (Opal) Wheeler, Matt (Jo Fleming) Wheeler, D. Kay (Tom Bell) King and Chad (Jill) Leake; a sister, Janet ( Steve) Bone; three brothers, Bill R. (Karen) Young, Gene (Billie) Young and Mark (Mindy) Young; eight grandchildren;  eleven great grandchildren; and Sue’s grand dog, Sky and chosen family member, Shelby Evans.

Sue is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wheeler; her second husband, Donald Leake; a sister, Ruth Jordan; a grandson, Dusty Melvin and a great granddaughter, Nora Funk.

Friends and family may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 16, 2021 with Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. Sue will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville.
