Terry L. Pickens, 61, of Zanesville, died at 9:27 A.M. on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born November 18, 1956, in Vandalia, a son of Larry Pickens and the late Bonnie Wilt Pickens. He was a truck driver for Quick Way Carriers for over thirty-five years and a member of Wildwood Church of Christ. He was an avid corn hole player, card player, and fisherman. Terry loved sports, especially the Browns, Buckeyes, and the Cavs, but spending time with his family was the most important part of his life. He is survived by his father, Larry (Paula) Pickens; his wife of forty-one years, Tammy D. Schoonover Pickens, whom he married June 5, 1976; two daughters, Jill (Chris) McDonald and Lyndsee (Brett) Johnson; a son, Terry L. (Sonia) Pickens; nine grandchildren, Chloe, Mya, Myles, Ryley, Olyvia, Christopher, Lexi, Austin, and Gracie; two brothers, Steve (Dreama) Pickens and Scott (Sandra) Pickens; a sister, Vicki (Greg) Smith; mother-in-law, Jean Schoonover; a brother-in-law, Tom (Beth) Schoonover; an uncle, Roger Wilt, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas Schoonover; a brother, Gary Ray Pickens; and an uncle, Ronnie Wilt. A Cremation-With-Care has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
