Thelma L. Barnett, 102, of Zanesville, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born August 6, 1906, in Meigs Twp., Adams County, the daughter of the late Alvin G. and Annis B. Ogle Stricklett. Thelma was a former quality control secretary at the Line Material Company where she worked for 19 years. She was a member of the St. Lukes Lutheran Church, a member of OES # 52, Amrou Caldron # 23, a former Bethesda Hospital Volunteer and a member of the Business & Professional Women's Association. Surviving are three sons and daughters in-law, George & Jackie Fleming of East Fultonham, Richard & Glenna Fleming of Zanesville and Robert & Patricia Fleming of Murrells Inlet, S. C., thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren; a step daughter, Mary Lou (Ralph) Mast; and two step sons, Whiten (Alice) Mauk & Zane (Delores) Barnett. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George C. Fleming, who died in 1939; her second husband, Glenn W. Mauk, who died in 1968; her third husband, Orval G. Barnett, who died in 1971; three sisters Garnett Troutman, Faye Phipps and husband James & Anna Lee Davis and husband Wilbur. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with OES # 52 having services at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Brian George officiating. A graveside service will be held at noon, Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Manchester, Ohio.
