Thelma Leota (Barker) Wickham

Thelma Leota Wickham, 85, of Zanesville, died at 8:45p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Cedar Hill Care Center. Thelma was born August 31, 1928 in Bethesda, OH a daughter of the late Francis Marion Sr. & Doris Clark Barker. Thelma worked as a coil winder, she was also employed in the deli at Maysville IGA and her favorite job of all, she had the privilege to stay home and babysit all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene, where she was a member of LIFT. In her spare time Thelma enjoyed crafting, painting and sewing. Thelma will forever be remembered for her gift of baking pies. Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years, Leland Wickham of the home, whom she married on March 31, 1948; two daughters, Mary (Stephen) Miller and Kathy Weekley all of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Melissa (Don) Faulhaber of Dresden, Holly (Chad) Ballard of Zanesville, Andy Richardson of Zanesville, Kevin (Melinda) Weekley of Zanesville, April (Rex) Cottrell of Philo and Kacey Weekley of Zanesville; 14 great grandchildren, 4 great-great- grandchildren; three brothers, George (Chris) Barker of Nashport, Ralph (Lavern) Barker of Midland, TX, Carl (Martha) Barker of Avondale; a sister Alice( Jim) Nessline of Zanesville; her best friend, Elaine Zimmerman of Zanesville and her special cat, "Kitty". In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Jenny Barker; two brothers, Lewis Barker and Francis Marion Barker Jr.; a sister, Katherine Jones; two sons-in-law, Jon Weekley and John Richardson. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home,1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 with Pastor Steve Dupler officiating. Thelma will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery.
