Theodore 'Ted' I. Johnson

Theodore Ted I. Johnson, 82, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away at 6:07 P.M. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at The Oaks at Bethesda, Zanesville. He was born February 1, 1936, in Rockford, Illinois, a son of the late Olaf Johnson and Rose Swenson Johnson Soderberg. He was a 1954 graduate of East High School in Rockford, was passionate about classical music and served as a church organist for many years. He loved to visit family and in-laws in Colorado and Vermont, was an animal lover, and most of all found his greatest joy in his grandchildren. He is survived by two daughters, Valerie Johnson of Arlington, Virginia, and Linda (Scott) Day of New Concord, Ohio; two grandchildren, Cody and Kalie Day; two brothers, Bernie Johnson of Vermont and Russ (Carol) Johnson of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Fay Sprague Johnson, sister Patricia Campobello, and sister-in-law Marilyn Johnson. No calling hours or visitation will take place. A Cremation-With-Care will be provided with burial at a later date at West Hill Cemetery, Chelsea, Vermont.
