Thomas D. Francis

Thomas D. " Tom" Francis, 71, of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Forest View Nursing Home. He was born September 29, 1939, in Zanesville, Ohio, a son of the late Chester and Gwendolyn M. Northcott Francis. He was the owner and operator of Tom's TV for 45 years and had worked for Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital for 10 years. He attended Westwood Baptist Church, enjoyed teaching Sunday School, was past master of Malta Lodge #118 and Eastern Star #264 Past Worthy Patron . Tom was an avid bowler, who liked to read and study the Bible. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary K. Plescher Francis, whom he married August 16, 1959, of the home; three daughters, Carrie (Greg) Whiteman of Zanesville, Maria (Ernie) Pick of Azle, Texas and Mary (Matt) June of Zanesville; a son, Tom (Felicia) Francis of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and a sister, Diana Francis of Zanesville. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 with Rev. Mark Ballmer officiating. Tom will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
