Thomas Edward Ryan, 66, of Zanesville, died at 1:40 A.M. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born December 21, 1947, in Zanesville, only son of the late Mandle G. and Anna F. Fuchs Ryan. He was a United States Army Vietnam veteran, worked as a Communications Technician for Ohio Bell Telephone for 30 years, and was a faithful member, usher, and supporter of Maranatha Bible Church for 41 years. Thomas was a well known bowler with 10 sanctioned 300 series, a Pro Bowler for 5 tournaments, and is in the Zanesville Bowling Hall of Fame. Surviving are the love of his life, his wife of 47 years Betty J. Gatewood Ryan, whom he married August 6, 1967; a daughter Trisha (Les) Goldstrom of Oakmont, PA; a son Jeffery (Michelle) Ryan of Zanesville; and five grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Anna, Madison, and Tripp. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 12, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, with Pastor L. Dale McCallister, Pastor Chris Brown, and Pastor Rick Searls officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora, with full military honors presented by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maranatha Missions: 2400 Chandlersville Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
