Thomas G. "Tommy Turtle" Thompson, 75, of Zanesville died at 12:27 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan emergency room. He gave the gift of life as a tissue donor. He was born September 4, 1932 in Rocky Fork, Ohio a son of the late Edward and DeLeah Belle Crego Thompson. He worked for Kaiser Aluminum and then retired from National Can. He was a member of the Kaiser Retiree's Club in Heath, was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and loved the outdoors. Surviving are his wife, Jeanine C. Vaughn Thompson, whom he married March 13, 1962, of the home; seven daughters, Bonnie (Michael) Massey of Callahan, Florida, Toni ( Michael) Nolan of Dallas, Texas, Peggy ( Darin) Childers of Zanesville, Cindy (Andrew) Rutter of Nashport, Penni Noll of Zanesville, Erin (Mark) Walker of Zanesville and Terri Thompson of Zanesville; three sons, Thomas E. ( Tina) Thompson of Statham, Georgia, Robert G. (Victoria) Thompson of Clarksville, Georgia and Daniel A. ( Pam Logan) Thompson of Nashport; twenty seven grandchildren, Tommy & Steven Thompson, Michael ( Jordan) Massey and Matthew Massey, Michael Nolan Jr., Heather & Kaleigh Thompson, Becka & Anna Highland, Crystal & Megan Childers, Jared & Jamie Rutter, Jessica & Erin Noll, Rodney Styers, Kristin Ulry, Brittany, Katelynn and Rebecca Thompson, Christina & Megan Lindsey, April, Shelby, Derrianne and Mariah Johnson and Jerry Sherrod Jr.; two brothers, Frederick L. Thompson of Miramar, Florida and Ronald A. ( Dorless Barnhart) Thompson of Nashport; three sisters, Barbara ( Gerald ) Stroup of Live Oak, Florida, Patricia ( Stroup of Hawthorne, Florida and Lillian "Boots" Roderick of Newark; many nieces and nephews and two special friends, Mr. Gray and Funny Face. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Thompson and a brother, Edward Thompson Jr. No calling hours will be observed a caring cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m at the New Hope Full Gospel Church, 3560 East Pike, Zanesville with Rev. Mike McGuire officiating. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association in Memory of Thomas.
