Todd R. Biles, 57, of Zanesville, died at 6:55 P.M. on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. He was born May 14, 1964, in Bellaire, a son of Leland and Vicci (Stottlemyer) Biles.
Todd was a loving husband and devoted father who worked tirelessly to provide a beautiful life for his family. At the age of 29, Todd was promoted to President and CEO of 5B’s Inc. which was his family’s business. He took this promotion very seriously always wanting to make his parents proud and provide economic opportunities for families across our local communities. Working alongside his sisters, Todd could always be found at work as that was his true passion and calling. He loved that his children, wife, nieces and nephews, and other special family members were working right there by his side. Todd’s key staff was not only dedicated in helping run the day-to-day operations they were some of his closest friends. Todd’s dedication to 5B’s will go unmatched but his love for all his employees will be forever.
Todd loved sports & was a die-hard fan of the Steelers & University of Michigan. GO BLUE! His passion was further ignited when his son Shane took an interest in baseball. Todd’s passion for coaching young men was something that came natural to him & he took great pride in being a father figure, friend, and mentor to countless boys who played for him as well as grown men who coached alongside him. He never shied away from a challenge & accepted the responsibility that came with the leadership roles he held in every aspect of his life. Todd fulfilled a dream of his by building Stinger Field on the grounds of 5B’s. His time spent there and at countless other ball fields across the country were the source of many great memories.
Todd’s other joys included watching Alana his daughter, fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer, walking her down the aisle at her wedding and welcoming a new son (Zach) into the family fold. His most recent joy was becoming “big poppy” to Eliza Jewel his only granddaughter. Todd provided the best life to his wife Julie that any girl could ask for and the only regret is that they won’t spend their golden years creating more memories together. Todd was known for a tough exterior but inside he was the biggest teddy bear with a heart to match. He loved his family like no other, was the most generous man you would ever meet, and strived hard to do right by those he loved including his associates. Todd was a dear friend to many young and old. He was blessed to have such a loyal and dedicated best friend Chris Nash who worked alongside him every day at 5B’s, thru good times and bad. Special friends such as Craig Baldwin and John Biles Jr. were constant sources of fun and jokes and support that will never be forgotten and meant so much to Todd. Todd loved God and served since a young man and strove to instill that walk in his own family. Lastly, he loved his parents and entire family including his in laws (Joe and Starla Ansel) like no other and strove daily to make them all proud. The void Todd leaves will be hard to ever fill, and he will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Julie (Ansel) Biles whom he married June 1, 1985; a son, Shane (Jenna Bell) Biles; a daughter, Alana (Zach) Freeland; a granddaughter, Eliza Freeland; two sisters, Paula J. (Gary) Moore and Stacey L. (Randy) Roberts; brother in law, J.T. (Michelle) Ansel, and many nieces and nephews.
