Vaughn R. Miller

Vaughn R. Miller, 81, of Zanesville, died at 11:49 P.M. on Thursday December 1, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 8, 1935 in Zanesville, son of Clifford and Dorothy Rehl Miller. He was a mechanic at Peabody Coal Company, a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a member of the VFW. He is survived by two daughters, Ann (Jeff) Davis of Zanesville and Nancy Bird (Greg) Smith of Newport Richey, Florida; a step-daughter, Darlene Shaffer of Blacklick; a brother, Clifford Miller of Zanesville; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith Miller, whom he married May 9, 1964; a son, David Miller; a daughter, Jan Miller; a sister, Nancy Phillips; and two brothers, Leon and Roy Miller. A dignified cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 South 7th Street, Zanesville, on Friday December 9, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Dan Bell officiating.
