Velma L. Aldridge Wilson, 91, of Zanesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnellsville. Velma was born on July 7, 1922, in Syracuse, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late John and Freda Dalton Aldridge. She was a 1941 graduate of Crooksville High School, attended Meredith Business College, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. Velma is survived by her daughter Nancy (Mark) Mechling of Duncan Falls; two sisters, Lois (John) Boyd of Holden, Massachusetts, and Kathaleen Black of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Berkshire of Lancaster and Evelyn Miller of Zanesville; a niece Lori Pierce of Charlotte, North Carolina; and two nephews, Bob Black of Phoenix, Arizona, and John Boyd of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Velma was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Lemert Wohlheter who passed away August 22, 1965; her second husband of 45 years, Ellis "Les" Wilson who passed away October 14, 2012; two brothers-in-law, Bill Black and Irvin Berkshire; and a sister-in-law Geraldine Pace. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Calling hours will be observed one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
