Verna Elizabeth Boykin, 87, of Marietta, formerly of Zanesville died at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2004 at Marietta Memorial Hospital emergency room. She was born August 25, 1917 in Selma, NC, a daughter of the late William Clem and Edith Creech Stallings. She had worked for 18 years as a Tile Paster for Mosiac Tile Co., was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Stancil Chapel, NC., and a member of the Womens Auxillary of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret ( Lowell) Heldman of Marietta and Faye ( John ) Rollins of Zanesville, six grandchildren, Lora ( Jeff ) Clark, Cheryl ( Jim ) Hostottle, Neil Heldman, Dedi Rollins, Todd ( Michele ) Rollins and Shane ( Wendy ) Boykin and six great grandchildren, two sisters, Mamie Hare of Middlesex, NC and Louise Eason of Selma, NC., a brother, Roger Stallings of Pine Top, NC. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, her husband, Elton E. Boykin, who died January 15, 1982, a son, Ronnie Boykin, who died in 1985, four brothers, Ernest, Kermit, Thurman and Willie ( Bill ) Stallings and a sister, Ruby Capps. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 with Pastor Mark Noe officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
