Virgene M. DeVolld, 88, of Lynchburg, VA, formerly of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord at 10:50 A.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She was born March 2, 1926, in Glouster, a daughter of the late Andrew S. and Lenora Byers Mount. She was a 1944 graduate of Philo High School and served in the Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII. She retired from Bethesda Hospital after 38 years as a Registered Nurse, and was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ, Stepping Stones of Ohio Valley College, Ohio Child Conservation League, and the Bethesda Hospital Alumni Association. Surviving are three sons, Bret E. (Darlene) DeVolld of Columbus, Bart A. (Debra) DeVolld of St. Clairsville, and Blake D. (Dr. Kimberly) DeVolld of Lynchburg, VA; a sister Alleen Miller of Cambridge; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edmund E. DeVolld who died February 7, 1984; a son Robert B. DeVolld; an infant daughter; two step-sons, Richard G. DeVolld and David L. DeVolld; and a brother George B. Mount. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, with Evangelist Keith Kress officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Edmund at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
