Virginia A. Dunmead, 81, of Zanesville, died at 7:56 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. She was born March 31, 1930, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Leo and Lena Oliver Moore. She retired in 1994 after 34 years of service as a secretary for Wilson School. She was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Verla Moore Service Club and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was an avid bowler and card player. Surviving are a daughter, Leslie L. Dunmead of Zanesville; cousins, Gloria Swingle and Larry and Dianna Radcliffe, all of Zanesville; a nephew, Terry (Sherry) Dickerson of Birmingham, AL; and several nieces and nephews in Toledo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Dunmead, who died March 15, 2000. Calling hours will begin at 9:00 a.m. with A Celebration of Life Service taking place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Central Trinity United Methodist Church, 62 S 7th St., Zanesville with Dr. L. Steven Fewell and Rev. Tom England officiating. A private burial will take place at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
