Vivian (Thompson) Nicholson

Vivian Nicholson, 93, of Columbus, formerly of Zanesville, died at 5:40 A.M. on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Abbington of Arlington. She was born April 25, 1921, in Derwent, a daughter of the late William and Emma Saultz Thompson. She had worked as an Operator for Ohio Bell, was a long time Avon Representative, and was a member of Brighton Presbyterian Church for over 70 years. Surviving are a daughter Judy (Charles) Henry of Columbus; a son Bruce (Tina) Nicholson of Dayton; four grandchildren, Christina (Terrance) Marks, Jean (Daniel) Flaherty, Adam (Jordan) Nicholson, and Amy (Ryan) White; six great grandchildren, Sean Marks, Julia Marks, Morgan Flaherty, Dexter Nicholson, Charlie White and Dylan Flaherty; two sisters, Marjorie Holdren of Pleasant City, and Jean Hudson of Byesville; a special niece Beverly Nicholson of Sacramento. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester "Chet" Nicholson, who died June 23, 2003;a sister Maxine Wheeler; a niece, Joanna Pusti and an aunt, Melba Cohagan. Friends and family may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the church service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Brighton Presbyterian Church, 771 Lexington Avenue, Zanesville, with Rev. Suellen Skinner officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brighton Presbyterian Church: 771 Lexington Ave, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
