Wallace Dorsey Shakley, 84, of Zanesville, died at 3:00 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 11, 1926, in Nashport, a son of the late Ira Lee and Lottie Jamison Shakley. He was a route salesman for Omar Bakery for 17 years and later worked for Buckeye Welding, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Nashport United Methodist Church, Irville Masonic Lodge #184 and Moose Lodge #935 of Coshocton, Ohio. Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn Royer of Zanesville, Dona Shakley of Westerville, OH and Karen Hoff of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Lisa Thrasher of Galloway, OH, Joshua Hoff of Westerville, OH and Jamie Hoff and Zanesville; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mona Gildow of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Moorehead and Lena Covert. Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the funeral home with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Wallace will be laid to rest in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
