Walter William "Bill" Frick, was born April 25, 1924, in Zanesville, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 05, 2014, at the Oaks of Bethesda. He was the youngest of four children born to the late Albert G. and Edith T. (Bauer) Frick. Bill was in the first class to complete the auto mechanic program offered at Zanesville High School and graduated from Lash High School. He worked briefly at the Swingle Motor Company before serving in WWII in the US Army's 44th Division, the 324 Infantry in Europe, rising to the rank of Tec 4. After his Honorable Discharge he would marry Florence Louise Pohl of Cleveland, who would be his life partner for nearly fifty years, and the mother of their four sons. After the war he returned to Swingle's, and later worked for Armco Steel, Buck Harrop at his automobile repair shop in South Zanesville, White Buick, Morrison Pontiac and Cadillac, Kane Pontiac, and the Jeff Drennen dealership. He excelled as an auto mechanic for his entire working career. Bill had the uncanny talent of taking an ordinary automobile and turning it into the family chariot. Later in life, he would turn to his talents to taking broken down furniture and turning them into beautiful antiques. He was a perfectionist. Bill was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are his sons, Kenneth (Cynthia McKay), William (Peg), Larry (Betsy), and Chuck (Theresa); grandchildren, Amy Krouskoupf, Maren Wolfe, Lindsey Frick, Aaron Frick and Kevin Frick; step-granddaughter Amy Clark; and great grandchildren Callie and Ethan Krouskoupf. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Florence; his sister Julia Schmid; brothers George and Frederick; and step-grandson Mike Clark.
