Wilbur Edward Moore, 86, of Zanesville, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Willow Haven Care Center. He was born February 3, 1924, in Zanesville, a son of the late Wilbur and Rose Fritz Moore. He retired in 1984 as a printer for the Columbus Dispatch Newspaper. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and a United States Army World War II Veteran. He was an avid outdoors man and golfer. Surviving is his second wife, Helen Merriam Moore of the home; two daughters, Theresa (William) Berkhemer of Columbus, Ohio and Debbie (Richard) Hughes of Grove City, Ohio; four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley J. Hilderbrand, who died July 26, 1989; a son, Michael E. Moore, who died in 2007; two sisters, Hazel Dick and Lou Wallace; and two grandchildren. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
