William Franklin Besser, 64, of Zanesville, died at 6:35 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born July 9, 1944, in Zanesville, a son of the late Earl R. and Mary G. Smith Besser. He had worked for United Technologies and in the maintenance department for Longaberger, Co. and Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was an avid music lover and was Elvis Presley's #1 fan. Surviving are four daughters, Christina Fraijo and Lisa Martinez, both of Phoenix, Arizona, Regina Ferris of Ontario, California and Billie Jo (Mike) Davis of Newark; two sons, John (Candice) Besser of Flagstaff, Arizona and Earl "Skip" (Crystal) Besser of Chandlersville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Pam) Besser of Zanesville; three sisters, Catherine Rockwell of Norwich, JoAnn Crozier of Dresden and Mary (Bob) McClellan of Zanesville; many extended family members; a special friend, Pat Bromley of Zanesville and his best friend, Bear. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen, Clarence, Ernie and Donald Besser; two sisters, Bonnie Reynolds and Rosa Besser. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. David Richard officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
