William E. Cover, 83, of Zanesville, died at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan hospital. He was born February 13, 1927, in Zanesville, a son of the late Charles W. and Ruth Hickey Cover. He was owner and operator of Cover TV for 52 years. He was a member of the Coburn United Methodist Church, Lodge of Amity #5 where he served as secretary for 14 years and was a past master, Knight of the York Cross of Honor, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Knights Templar, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Order of Eastern Star #485, Order of Amarath, Amrou Grotto #45 and Zavi Shrine. He was a 33 Degree Mason and a United States Navy World War II Veteran. He loved photography and playing several musical instruments. Surviving are a son, Michael (Delma) Cover of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, David A. (Becky) Smith Jr., Darrick (Melissa) Cover, Scott (Christy) Cover, Dustin C. Smith, Wendy Cover (Josh) Daniels, Ashley Smith, Kelly Cover and Josie Cover; 10 great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Jewett Bill Harriman of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Brown Cover, who died September 20, 2001; a daughter, Constance Harriman, who died October 17, 2009; two brothers, Charles E. Cover and Larry G. Cover; and a great grandson, Drake Cover. Friends may call 2-4 & 6- 8 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where Masonic Lodge services will be held at 5:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at the funeral home with Dr. Dennis Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post #1058 in conjunction with the United States Navy will hold full military rites at the graveside.
