William E. Dale

William E. "Dink" Dale, 78, of Gratiot, died at 11:55 A.M. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born Novemeber 11, 1935, in South Zanesville, a son of the late Harvey and Hannah Butterfield Dale. He worked as a fireman at the Newark Air Force Station, for the National Trail Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter and helped with their booth at the Muskingum County Fair, enjoyed fishing and going to yard sales, and was a member of the Woodlawn Avenue Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Norma Jean Hooper Dale, whom he married April 21, 1956; four sons, Jeff (Saundra) Dale, Randy (Cindi) Dale, Shane (Rhonda) Dale, Shawn (Jill) Dale; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila Fisher; a grandson Jason Pratt; a great grandson Domnicke; six brothers; and two sisters. Friends and family may call from 2:00- 4:00 P.M. & 6:00- 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 13, 2014, with Minister Tom Butterfield officiating. He will be laid to rest at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House: 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
