William Franklin Johnson, 71, of Zanesville, formerly of Newark, Ohio and Tampa, Florida, died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born September 19, 1936, in Lisbon, Ohio, a son of the late James B. and Edna M. Smith Johnson. He was a retired Press Operator for Caine Corporation in Hebron and was a Army Veteran. Surviving are his wife, Kimberly S. Johnson, of the home; his ex-wife of 36 years, Deanna M. Johnson of Newark; three sons, Donald W. (Debra K.) Johnson, Alan B. Johnson and Marc J. Johnson, all of Newark; a step daughter, Erica J. Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Seward H. Johnson of Hopewell, Ohio and Richard D. (Irene) Johnson of Cape Girdeau, Missouri; three sisters, Betty Kauffman of Columbiana, Ohio, Shirley (Dean) Ward of Lisbon, Ohio and Ruth (John) Woodburn of Elkton, Ohio; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Johnson. No calling hours will be observed. A caring cremation has taken place.
