William H. Lent Sr., 72, of Zanesville, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1937, in Zanesville, the son of the late Norval and Mary Catherine Leddy Lent. William was a retired supervisor at the Newark Air Force Station and a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #29. William was an avid fisherman and hunter. Surviving are his wife, Frances L. Hendershot Lent, whom he married March 14, 1968, of the home; two daughters, Connie Sue (Donny) James of Youngsville, NC., and Becky Lent of Zanesville; three sons, Bill (Susan) Lent, Terry (Krystal) Lent and Tom (Angie) Lent, all of Zanesville; three brothers, Walter Lent of Malvern Pa., John Raymond (Carolyn) Lent of Zanesville and Vincent (June) Lent of Huntingdon, PA., thirteen grandchildren; a future great grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Teresa Ruppel Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jerry. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday January 6, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home at 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Anita James officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. V. F. W. George Selsam Post 1058 will hold military services at the gravesite.
