William Peter "Pete" Miller, 88, of Hopewell, died at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born March 6, 1919, in Zanesville, a son of the late William Phillip and Ethel Frances Miller. He was the owner and operator of Miller Auto Wrecking which he started in 1949. He was a World II Army Veteran. He served in the 14th Armored Division as a unit in General Patch's Seventh Army and was a part of General Patton's Third Army. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Eloise Taylor Miller, whom he married May 19, 1941, of the home; a daughter, Eloise (William) Bishop of Zanesville; two sons, William P. (Joy) Miller Jr. of Zanesville and James P. (Paulette) Miller of Hopewell; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Taylor of Zanesville; a brother, Phillip Jr. (Barbara) Miller of Zanesville and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Harry and Robert Miller and three sisters, Margaret Perry, Betty Reily and Jean Wheeler. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the funeral home with Dr. James Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military rites at the grave.
