William E. (Bill) Mohler, 74, of Zanesville, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home. He was born July 19, 1942, son of the late William and Gwendolyn Watkins Mohler. Bill was an Information Systems Supervisor for Ohio Power retiring in 2004 He attended Westwood Baptist Church, served 17 years as Commissioner for the Amateur Softball Association retiring in 2008, and served as Athletic Booster President at West Muskingum High School. He was the President and Organizer along with Del Gadd, Butch Gadd, and Ed Ottenga to form Y-City Sports which was in charge of the entire Adult Sports Program for the City of Zanesville. He was an avid Ohio State Football and Basketball fan, and coached various mens softball and basketball teams. Bill is survived by a daughter, Michele Browning; a son, Michael Mohler; four sisters, Melissa (Ron) Dobbins, Rebecca (Floyd) Brown, Susan (Larry) Hoover, and Cheryl (David) Murrey; and three grandchildren, Matthew Mohler, Makayla Browning, and Christin Browning. In addition to his parents, is preceded in death by three brothers, Randy, Richard, and Robert Mohler; a sister, Rosalee Mohler. Friends and family may call from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 and also one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Rev. Steve Chaney officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery in Sonora.
