William J. Taisey Sr., 93, of Zanesville, died at 4:50 A.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. He was born November 21, 1922 in New Lexington, a son of the late Herbert and Ada Mox Taisey. He was a tool and die maker at McGraw Edison, was a member of First Christian Church, a U.S Navy Veteran of World War II. and an avid golfer. Bill was well known for holding court at McDonald's every day and solving the world's problems. Surviving are a son, William J. (Kathy) Taisey Jr. of Dresden; three grandchildren, Roger Woerner of Delaware, Jeffrey (Mary) Woerner of Delaware and Troy Taisey of Springfield; two great grandchildren and a nephew, Dan (Kathy) Damiano of Dublin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Martin Taisey, who died August 18, 1994; a daughter, Sandra Woerner; five brothers and a sister. No calling hours will be observed. A graveside for friends and family will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 with Rev. Dawn Remster officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post #29.
