Wilma M. Smith, 81, of Zanesville, died at 11:38 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Muskingum County Home. She was born December 10, 1925, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Willis and Guyla Shreve Van Scoy. She sold Avon products for 13 years, was an avid bowler and she had belonged to many bowling leagues. She also enjoyed her landscaping at her home. Surviving are a daughter, Tamara (Ronnie) Jewett of Zanesville; two grandsons, U.S. Army Sgt. Bradley (Angie) Thompson of Heinzville, Georgia and Sean Thompson of San Antonio, Texas; a great grandson, Jordan Thompson; a sister, Naomi Baker of Zanesville and two brothers-in-law, Larry (Diana) Smith of Zanesville and Don (Mary) Smith of Pennsylvania. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Smith, who died September 10, 2003 and a nephew, Scott Baker. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.
