Wilson W. " Red " Woods, 79, of Zanesville died at 11:39 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2005 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital emergency room. He was born November 24, 1925 in Nashport, a son of the late Wilson and Gladys M. Welsh Woods. He and his brother Darrell were Co-Owners for 49 years of Redwood Motors on Maysville Avenue. He was a Methodist by faith, a World War II and Korean Navy Veteran, a member of the Elks and American Legion. He enjoyed raising horses and riding them, liked to race cars, play cards and enjoyed boating. Surviving are his wife, Norma J. Sheets Woods, whom he married April 7, 1944 , a son, Chris Woods of Anderson, SC., two grandchildren, Dusty Woods and Odie ( Erin) Woods, both of Anderson, SC., a brother, Darrell P. ( Shirley ) Woods of Nashport, three nieces, Holly ( Linden ) Dillin, Polly Woods both of Ft. Worth, Texas and Dolly ( Tom ) Herschel of Solon, Ohio, a special friend, Brenda Atwood of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Rev. Valerie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. Friends may call 2 hours prior to services.
